St. David’s Hosts Nonviolent Peaceforce Gathering

St. David’s Episcopal Church hosted a gathering May 7 between representatives from Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) USA and those interested in learning more about this non-partisan organization and its work in eight areas of conflict in the world and the U.S.

NP uses Unarmed Civilian Protection strategies to equip individuals and communities to deescalate situations, e.g., youth leaders in Darfur, Women Protection Teams in South Sudan and Community Peace Builders in Minneapolis and New York City.

"For people living in violent conflict, nonviolence can change everything," said NP Executive Director Tiffany Easthom. After the presentations, we had a lively Q&A with Tiffany and the Director of Mutual Protection, USA Kalaya’an Mendoza and learned so much from the stories and information they shared.
