Mission Wildlife’s Wild Celebration: A Day of Conservation, Connection, and Fun
Global Conservation Leaders Founder and CEO Joy Wolf and Mission Wildlife Co-founder and President Julie Scardina
On Sunday, September 28, Global Conservation Leaders Founder and CEO Joy Wolf enjoyed an unforgettable Wild Celebration event to support the conservation efforts of Mission Wildlife. It was an inspiring day dedicated to protecting orangutans, elephants and rescued animals right here in San Diego. Guests were greeted by incredible animal ambassadors, including a penguin and sloth, and met conservationists from Borneo who are working on the front lines of wildlife protection.
The day was packed with guest favorites: intimate animal meet & greets, breakfast bites, reserved seating at animal presentations and an exciting auction featuring once‑in‑a‑lifetime wildlife experiences to help raise vital support for conservation efforts.
As one of the event sponsors, Joy attended as a VIP Wild Champion guest and enjoyed even more: a behind‑the‑scenes tour of the SeaWorld Rescue Center, a buffet‑style Dine With Orcas experience, and special up‑close animal connections celebrating Global Conservation Leaders’ commitment to global wildlife protection.

The main beneficiary of the day’s event was Hutan, an organization working to conserve endangered orangutans, elephants, hornbills and other wildlife in Borneo. Founder and Director Marc Ancrenaz, Science Officer Amanda Shia and International Liaison Elie Ancrenaz connected with event guests and spoke about the plight of these animals in Borneo and the inspirational conservation progress they have been able to achieve. But they still have a long way to go and appreciated the support provided by Mission Wildlife and all the event guests.
“Mission Wildlife knows how to combine conservation, inspiration and fun by bringing people and wildlife together creating worldwide support for much needed conservation efforts,” said Joy. “Global Conservation Leaders looks forward to providing continued support of Mission Wildlife.”
